Sonu Nigam takes the azaan controversy to a different level, shaves his head in response to West Bengal maulvi's fatwa

As promised, singer Sonu Nigam called a press conference at his residence in Mumbai and decided to answer every question about his tweets controversy

As promised singer Sonu Nigam called a press conference at his residence in Mumbai and decided to answer every question about his tweets controversy. But while addressing the media, Sonu lost his cool many times. When asked about his controversial tweets, the singer said, ”Everyone has a right to voice their opinion, but if you don’t agree with me then you can tell this in a polite manner rather than abusing me on social media.”

He further added, ”The aim was not to hurt anyone. It was meant to be taken positively, but people misunderstood me. To be precise, Mr. Ahmed Patel said what I wanted to say in a better way. He said: Azaan is important not the loudspeaker.”

On being asked about him getting his head shaved in response to the fatwa issued by vice president of West Bengal Minority United Council Syed Sha Atef Ali Al Quaderi, the singer made it clear that he was not joking when he said that he will get it done.

And surprisingly, the singer stood by his words and called celebrity hairstylist Aalim Hakim, who shaved his head in front of the press. And the logic given by Sonu behind taking the whole thing way too seriously is that he wants to prove that the person who was shaving his hair was Muslim and he being a Hindu implies that his stand was not against any religion but against loudspeakers.

The whole controversy started after Sonu Nigam posted a series of tweets in which he complained of being woken up by the azaan in morning and asked, ”When will this forced religiousness end in India?” While some came out in support of the singer, others criticized him his insensitive posts.
