Sanjay Leela Bhansali issues a statement about Padmavati vandalisation, says every Indian will be proud of the film

Sanjay Leela Bhansali has decided to speak about the Padmavati issue once and for all

Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s historical period drama Padmavati has been grabbing limelight lately for its controversial topic. Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh, and Shahid Kapoor starrer film has been surrounded by a lot of controversies these days. A few days ago, the set of the movie was vandalized in Maharashtra and it seems the popular director Sanjay Leela Bhansali has decided to speak about the issue once and for all.

The director stated that Indians will be proud of Padmavati. He further stated that there has been a lot of misunderstandings regarding the content of the film. Clarifying the air, Sanjay stated that that the story revolves around Rajput princess Padmavati’s pride and honour and it is definitely going to make every Indian proud of the film. Sanjay Leela Bhansali also said that before starting the shoot of his film, his team had done extensive research work for the film especially on queen Padmavati. He clarified and said that there is no romantic sequence or imaginary love song between Alauddin Khalji and Padmavati in his script and there never was.

The critically acclaimed director also said that though he has clarified about the whole issue quite a many times but the treatment he received from the people hurt him a lot. The violence that his film received was based on the rumours and that violence is inappropriate and unacceptable. The ace director also said that he does not have any intentions to hurt anyone’s sentiment with his historical drama movie Padmavati.

The director went on to add that he met a couple of Rajput leaders and has come to a mutual agreement wherein the makers will be allowed to complete the film’s shooting without any issues. The director also thanked media and the film fraternity for their cooperation and support.

The historical magnum opus is slated to release this year in November. Padmavati is touted to be the most anticipated movies of the year.
