Salman Khan and Jacqueline Fernandez's Race 3 set for Eid 2018 release, and other details revealed

Salman Khan has replaced Saif Ali Khan for the third instalment of Race franchise. The previous two instalments were commercially successful

Salman Khan and Jacqueline Fernandez will share the screen space in Remo D’ Souza’s Race 3. The film to be produced by Ramesh Taurani will release around Eid next year. An interesting thing to note is that the film will be shot in a 3D format. Remo D’ Souza, who has helmed F.A.L.T.U, ABCD: Anybody Can Dance, ABCD 2 and A Flying Jatt in his filmography, will also direct Go Daddy that features Salman and Jacqueline. There were immense speculations whether the Sri Lankan actress would be on board, until August 22 when she herself confirmed about doing the film. Race 3 marks the second collaboration between the two actors after Sajid Nadiadwala’s Kick, that turned out to be a blockbuster upon its theatrical release in Eid 2014.

Salman, who is currently shooting for Tiger Zinda Hai, will begin shooting for the third installment of Race 3. After the filming is complete, he will shoot for Alvira Khan and Atul Agnihotri’s Bharat and then Arbaaz Khan’s Dabangg 3 is the next on cards. Earlier, the Sultan actor was supposed to shoot for Remo’s Go Daddy but the film has been put on hold. Salman has replaced Saif Ali Khan, whose role in Race and Race 2 was highly appreciated. Jacqueline had played a pivotal role in the second film.

Earlier, there were reports that the Sanjay Dutt biopic starring Ranbir Kapoor was scheduled to release during Eid next year. But director Rajkumar Hirani refuted the speculations and stated that the much-awaited film will hit the theatres in March. It is hoped that Salman Khan’s fans will have a happy Eid in 2018, as this year’s Eid celebrations were marred by the disappointing performance of Tubelight.
