Salim Khan confirms Salman Khan is giving money to the distributors for Tubelight loss

Salman Khan met the distributors at his home in Mumbai and decided to compensate them for the losses incurred due to Tubelight

Salman Khan has endured a disappointing Eid this year, mainly due to his latest release Tubelight biting the dust. The Kabir Khan directorial limped across the Rs 100 crore mark. In the third week so far, it earned Rs 85 crore and the overall collections stand at Rs 114.84 crore. Recently, there were reports that some distributors had been wanting to meet the 51-year-old actor, seeking a refund for the losses. The meeting was held on Saturday in the presence of Salman’s father Salim Khan.

Salman met the distributors at his house in Mumbai and has agreed to compensate for the losses incurred to them. It is speculated that the amount is pegged anywhere close to Rs 60 crore.”When a distributor suffers the loss, a producer should take the responsibility and share the financial burden. We met few of them and are working towards a middle ground.

The veteran screenplay writer who gave iconic films like Sholay, Zanjeer, Seeta Aur Geeta and others, added that the practice of returning money to the distributors is not a new trend.”All of us have to work together in the future. Hence, it is absolutely necessary that all the like-minded people come together and take a decision,” he added further.
