Ae Dil Hai Mushkil and Shivaay

Recently, Akshaye Rathi gave an interview to Bollywood Life where he expressed his views on the situation of the advance booking of the two films. He states that Karan Johar’s film is leading the race in terms of advance booking.  He said that both the films are of the specific genre and have a demarcated target audience. The makers of both the films very well know whom they are catering too. For him, while Ajay’s ‘Shivaay‘ is a full masala entertainer film, Ranbir’s ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ is very urban-youth centric. He further stated that Ajay’s film will do well at the single screens whereas Karan’s movie are meant for multiplexes. Akshaye further explained that in this sense, by default, ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil‘ has a slight edge over ‘Shivaay‘.

Akshaye told that the numbers that are being anticipated should be taken with a pinch of salt. The collection of ‘Shivaay’ is dependent on current bookings and in that case, the advance booking figures don’t matter much. He said that that the audience residing in small towns, do not book their tickets through Paytm or BookMyShow and hence you can’t predict the exact figures. He feels that both the film will have an equal chance of faring well at the box office.

Even the popular critic Kamaal Rashid Khan (KRK) took to Twitter to share how ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil‘ is ahead of Shivaay when it comes to advance booking. He said, ” #AeDilHaiMushkil is having 15% advance booking all over India while #Shivaay is having 10% means my prediction is going to be 100% correct!”

The numbers given are subjected to pure anticipations, only time will tell whether the audience is going as per these figures or tables will turn on the day of release. Ajay Devgn’s ‘Shivaay‘ and Karan Johar’s ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil‘ are slated for 28 December 2016 release.
