Ramin Djawadi Rocked Out On The GoT Theme With Audioslave, Anthrax & Extreme Guitarists

As co-creator D.B.Weiss also joins them, sit back and let your face melt while they jam around the most famous piece of music in the world.

The eighth season of Game of Thrones might not be finding favour with a majority of the fans from around the world, but there’s no question about whether Ramin Djawadi’s score and the opening theme holds water anymore. Like John Williams’ iconic score for Star Wars or Nino Rota’s unforgettable theme for The Godfather, one gets the feeling that Djawadi’s main theme for the Game Of Thrones will be remembered long after everyone forgets about season eight.

We’ve heard plenty of covers for this main theme; be it the Indian Jam Project or Mumbai’s street music collective, Djawadi’s music has been recreated in many forms and versions. But in a video that’s been shared from a couple of days ago, Djawadi can be seen jamming with the show’s co-creator D.B Weiss and three heavy-metal guitarists. Tom Morello of Audioslave, Scott Ian of Anthrax and Nuno Bettencourt of Extreme – it wouldn’t be hyperbole to call them some of the most high profile guitarists on this planet. They’re also joined by Brad Paisley (singer/guitarist).

Sitting with their heavily distorted guitars and jamming around Djawadi’s original score, all of them (including Dan Weiss) go on an ethereal solo. Each of them lasts about 25-30 seconds, and what entails is close to five minutes of pure rock musicians covering (arguably) the most famous piece of music in the world right now.

If you’re a GoT fan and/or a fan of heavy-duty rock music, sit back and let your face melt. Here’s the video of them jamming together:
