Pratyusha Banerjee short film row: I am not scared of going to jail, says Kamya Punjabi

Titled, Hum Kuch Keh Na Sake, the film grabbed limelight after Pratyusha Banerjee's boyfriend claimed that the video is an attempt to tarnish his image

Popular Tv actresses Kamya Punjabi has landed herself in big trouble by releasing late actress Pratyusha Banerjee’s short film. Titled, Hum Kuch Keh Na Sake, the 18-minute long film grabbed limelight after Pratyusha’s boyfriend claimed that the video is fake and is an attempt to tarnish his image.

The video features the late actress in the lead role and incidentally, the name of her co-actor’s character in the film is also Rahul. The film shows her struggle with depression and how a failed relationship drove her to commit suicide.

The film didn’t go down well with Rahul Raj Singh and he moved to court asking for a stay order on the release of the film. And despite court’s stay order, Kamya went ahead and released the film on Pratyusha’s first death anniversary which was on April 1.

After which Rahul’s lawyer said that Kamya can be jailed for 6 months for contempt of court. But the actress denied receiving any stay order and is taking it very lightly. In an interview with HT, Kamya told that she is not afraid of Rahul and will deal with him through her lawyers. She further added: I will definitely go to the court if there is a case. I am not scared and I will go to jail if needed.

Kamya and the Banerjee family hold Rahul responsible for Pratyusha’s death. In fact, her mother also claimed that the actress was not in a live-in relationship with Rahul and that he conspired and killed her daughter. Well, we really don’t know how many more twists and turns this controversy will have in future, but one thing is for sure that the film made all the Pratyusha Banerjee fans nostalgic.
