Baahubali 2 and Wonder Woman 'share' an iconic scene. No, seriously [Watch]

Prabhas and Anushka Shetty's Baahubali 2 and Gal Gadot, Robin Wright's Wonder Woman have a similar iconic fight sequence!

Baahubali 2 may have released in April but its craze continues thanks to a spectacular and unwavering run at the Box Office. If the aim was to impress, that’s something Baahubali: The Conclusion managed far more easily than Baahubali: The Beginning. The first installment of SS Rajamouli’s mammoth film may have a stunning war sequence, but the second installment had Devasena’s fight sequences. Total win, right?

Naysayers may froth at the mouth but it has to be Anushka Shetty’s bravado that saves the film from ‘just’ being a revenge drama. And if you are indeed a fan of female fight sequences, you have to admit that the three-arrow shot Devasena manages to perfect after a one-line tutorial from Amarendra Bahubali is pretty darn iconic.

Speaking of iconic fight sequences, Patty Jenkins’ Wonder Woman released on June 1 and has since then pretty much obliterated the insipid Baywatch at the BO (at least abroad). Which, to be fair, wasn’t that difficult to do. Gal Gadot’s Diana Prince is the superhero we all deserve and those of you’ve who have seen it will attest that there is not a single female character in the movie who disappoints. Gal Gadot, with her goddess-like prowess is easy to fall in love with, but she is hardly the only female character worth talking about. Robin Wright, the real MVP of Netflix’s House of Cards, plays General Antiope who trains Diana to fight.

She also rides into battle with a smile on her face, like she knows it’s her last run and she’s determined to make it count. And make it count, she does. Baahubali-style. No, seriously.

For those of you who have not seen Wonder Woman yet (WHY THOUGH?), you may want to stop reading right now. Minor spoiler ahead.

This is Devasena, Princess of Kuntala kingdom, and a fiercely independent warrior who is obsessed with shooting three arrows at once.

This is Amazonian General Antiope, who in Greek mythology is said to be the sister of Hippolyte and… wait for it.. is the daughter of Ares – The God of War.

For those who still haven’t made the connection, here’s common link between these two warriors:

Magnificent, isn’t she?

The multiple-arrow shot is hardly the innovation of either Indian cinema or those abroad. Oliver Queen, aka Green Arrow, the vigilante whose preferred mode of fighting is archery is quite well-versed with it as was Xena: Warrior Princess from circa 1995.

But that does not in any way take away from the fact that these two women, be it Anushka Shetty in Baahubali 2 or Robin Wright in Wonder Woman – pull it off with the conviction of their own spectacular (acting) skills.

Seen Wonder Woman, yet? No? What are you even waiting for?
