Parineeti Chopra has found herself at the receiving end of a criticism after she supposedly lied about being poor. At a recent event, Parineeti Chopra narrated her childhood story of being poor and how she fought grave situations to become what she is today. A man, who claims to be Parineeti’s classmate wrote a Facebook post, saying that she did all of this for publicity. Coming down strongly at the actress, the man named Kkanno Gupta said he remembered the car in which Parineeti used to come to school. He added that it was shame Parineeti had to resort to these measures to stay in the news.
The Meri Pyaari Bindu actress had said that she had a difficult childhood. But her classmate, reportedly, has a different story to tell. In the Facebook post, the man said that how shameful it was that a celebrity like Parineeti had to lie. He added, “Coming from the same school I probably also remember the car her father used to have. And going to school on a cycle was a trend those days and also a privilege not everyone had. My friends from CJM (Convent of Jesus and Mary) would probably understand the lies a bit better (sic).”
Well, after reading what Gupta has said on this would definitely raise eyebrows. He also said that Parineeti could not be poor if she did her schooling from Manchester. Here is what he posted on Facebook:
His post got a swarm of responses on Facebook with almost everyone saying that he did a right thing in exposing Parineeti’s lies. One comment read, “Kkanoogupta… I repeat never ever, ever, never ever, ever, never delete this post”. While another one read, “But you write something very good I also see her in many interviews talking this and that nd always thinking “Priyanka ki cousin hai itni bhikari thodi hogi jitna bolti hai””.
Parineeti’s alleged lie to stay in news and gain sympathy might’ve just backfired on her. If indeed she was lying, she would not have imagined that someone from her school would call her out for this. Guess, we will have to wait for Parineeti’s reply to this matter before jumping to any conclusions.

On the work front, Parineeti was last seen in Meri Pyaari Bindu in which she romanced Ayushmann Khurrana. Although, the movie did not do good business at the Box Office.
