A Pakistani singer Zain Ali, who represented his country in 2012 edition of the Indian edition of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa, was found dead at his friend’s house in Sheikhupura on Friday, said media reports. The musician’s brother Sonu Ali told a leading daily he went to hang out with his friends. The family woke up to the death of their son, the brother said.
Zain’s friend said he went to the washroom but when he didn’t come back after some time they barged in. As soon as they entered, they found Zain lying unconscious on the floor. Initial reports suggested Zakin may have died due to brain hemmorage but his family is waiting for the final media reports to be out. They will then decide their course of action.
“I am certain he didn’t commit suicide but I guess we’ll have confirmation once the investigation and postpartum reports are here,” his brother Sonu said refuting the possibility of a suicide. Belonging to the Saeed Mitha family of musicians, Zain got his big break in Sa Re Ga Ma Pa. His singing was appreciated by veterans of the Indian and Pakistani music industry, alike. In fact, Shah Rukh Khan hailed him and considered himself his fan.
“Zain was a great singer! In fact, he was one of the most popular young singers in Lahore and everyone expected him to do some great things in the industry. Many of the up and coming, aspiring singers idolized him and his death is a great loss to the industry,” a senior musician Sajjad Tafu, told a daily.
It is definitely a sad news for music industry since a talent left for the heavenly abode too soon.
