One dead, two injured during Shah Rukh Khan's Raees promotions in Vadodara

In a minor stampede like situation, one person died at the Vadodra railway station due to breathlessness as the crowd went berserk while trying to catch a sight of superstar Shah Rukh Khan who was their to promote his upcoming film ‘Raees’. Yesterday, late night he boarded on August Kranti express from Mumbai.

Victim Farid Khan, an ardent fan of Shah Rukh had also come to the railway station with his wife and daughter to catch a glimpse of the star. As soon as the train left, thousands of people who have gathered their hurried towards the exit gate of the station, creating utter confusion and chaos and it was during this time that Farid Khan and some others got collapsed.

Farid was rushed to the hosptial where the doctors declared him dead on arrival, the news which also got confirmed by the victim’s family.

Shah Rukh’s train visit from Delhi to Mumbai for the promotion of his upcoming movie was much anticipated and the actor too had tweeted about the his travel plans.

Two constables who were there at the station also got collapsed. Both of them are out of danger now and are undergoing a treatment at SSG hospital in Vadodara.

Many others also got wounded when police lathicharged in Kota and Vadodara as the crowd went berserk to see a sight of their favourite actor.

Movie’s director Rahul Dholakia and producer Ritesh Sidhwani were also present with the actor in the train. The film is set to release on January 25.
