First celeb split of 2017: Nandita Das and husband Subodh end 7 year long marriage

Nandita told a leading daily that she and Subodh are separating on amicable terms. She added that their first priority is their son.

The bygone year of 2016 was definitely harsh on celebrity couples with many calling it splits. Star couples including Ranbir Kapoor-Katrina Kaif, Arbaaz Khan-Malailka Arora Khan, Brad Pitt-Angelina Jolie decided to end their relationships last year.

Now that the new year has set in, news of another celebrity couple parting ways has surfaced. Actor-filmmaker Nandita Das has separated from her husband of seven years Subodh Maskara. Confirming this news, Nandita told a leading daily that she and Subodh are separating on amicable terms. She added that their first priority is their son.

Nandita, however, added that during these trying times she wanted nothing more than her and her family’s privacy to be respected.

Separation is never easy, more so if you have a child. For us, our son is our main concern and we are committed to ensuring his well-being.

Nandita and Subodh have a six-year-old son Viaan.

Subodh Maskara holds an MBA degree from Kellogg Graduate School of Management, USA.  He is the co-founder of the production house Chhoti (his partner being Nandita). Known for his entrepreneurial ventures, Subodh has been involved in many ventures from manufacturing television sets to establishing his own management company.

Earlier when grapevine went abuzz that Nandita and Subodh might end their marriage, the latter had vehemently denied it. He had said that fights and disagreements were a part of any marriage and people should stop speculating.

Now Nandita’s addressing the elephant in the room puts an end to all speculations.

Before Subodh, Nandita was married to Saumya Sen from 2002-2009. The actress is fondly remembered for her roles in movies like Fire, Earth, Bawandar, and Kannathil Muthamittal.
