Villain: Mohanlal looks refreshing and fit as the young 'Mathew Manjooran'

Lalettan had also undergone Ayurvedic treatment to look the part.

The second schedule of Mohanlal’s upcoming film, Villain is currently underway at a brisk speed. Directed by Madampi fame B Unnikrishnan and produced by Rockline Venkatesh—the maker of the 2015 Salman Khan blockbuster Bajrangi Bhaijaan—the stylish thriller stars the Malayalam superstar as a retired police officer Mathew Manjooran.

Earlier, there were reports that Mohanlal was planning to lose weight for the role in the film. Lalettan had also undergone Ayurvedic treatment to look the part.

On Sunday, the makers had released a new poster of Villain. The poster features Mohanlal in a refreshing look as he was seen young and fit to portrait the role of young Mathew Manjooran. And within no time, Lalettan fans trended the poster on social media including Facebook and Twitter.

Villain stars Manju Warrier in the female lead and will be essaying the role of Mohanlal’s wife in the film. The film also marks the fifth collaboration of Mohanlal-Manju Warrier duo. Villain also marks the Malayalam debut of popular Tamil actors Vishal and Hansika Motwani and Telugu actress Raashi Khanna. The film is reportedly being made for a whopping Rs 30 crore, which is higher than the budget of Mohanlal’s 2016 blockbuster Pulimurugan.

Villain also marks the second outing of Oppam composers, Jim Jacob, Biby, Eldhose and Justine of the music band, 4 Musics. The makers had already roped in stunt choreographers Peter Hein and Stunt Silvia for handling the action scenes in the film.

Villain stands out as the first Indian film to be completely filmed and released in the 8K resolution.
