The craze for the upcoming Malayalam film, The Great Father is building up with each passing day. Written and directed by debutant Haneef Adeni and jointly bankrolled by Malayalam actor Prithviraj, director Santhosh Sivan, Tamil actor Arya and producer Shaji Nadeshan under their banner August Cinemas, the action-thriller features the three-time National-award winner in the titular role of David Nainan Vedippara.
While the madness for Malayalam superstar films is nothing new in Kerala, but the same in overseas is definitely something new to hear. To make the Mammootty film even bigger, special shows of the film have been arranged in Australia on 31 March 2017 for fans. Yes, you heard that right! All thanks to the huge buzz created by the Malayalam superstar in the intro teaser, which had released on 10 February. It’s a remarkable achievement for Malayalam industry as it’s the first time that special shows for the fans of Malayalam cinema have been scheduled to release outside India.
Meanwhile, The Great Father teaser has set another record on Facebook, through the cross-posting method. The teaser of the Mammukka starrer has already crossed 8 Million views on Facebook to emerge as the first Malayalam teaser to do so.
The Great Father stars Arya in the role of Andrews Eapen Umbakkal – a character with shades of gray. The film also stars Sneha, Baby Anikha of Bhaskar The Rascal fame, Shaam, Mia George, Malavika Mohanan, Manikandan Achari and IM Vijayan.
The Great Father is scheduled to hit the screens on 30 March 2017.
