Lucifer is very much happening, says Mohanlal explaining the reason behind its delay

There were reports that Lucifer will be shelved as both Mohanlal and Prithviraj were busy with the shooting of their other 2017 releases

Malayalam superstar Mohanlal is going through one of the best phases of his career as he delivered three all-time blockbusters in 2016 with Telugu film Janatha Garage and Malayalam films Oppam and Pulimurugan. Interestingly, all three films released in a span of 60-days and this made Mohanlal emerge as the first Indian actor to do so. Both Janatha Garage and Pulimurugan turned out to be Rs 100 crore grosser at the Box Office as well.

His upcoming film, Lucifer is touted as one of the most awaited Malayalam films of 2017. The film was in news ever since the names of cast and technicians were announced as it marks the directorial debut of another Malayalam superstar, Prithviraj. Lucifer has its script written by Murali Gopy.

But recently, there were reports that the film will be shelved as both the Malayalam actors were busy with the shooting of their other 2017 releases. However, in a recent interview to Times Of India, The Complete Actor gave the latest update about the film:

Lucifer is definitely happening. Right only the title is fixed. Prithviraj and Murali are both sensible. From our film conversations, I have gathered they are well-versed with cinema and the expectations of the industry. I liked the concept of Lucifer. Now, they will have to develop the script and we will have to sit for discussions because when so many people from our own industry get involved, we can’t just make an ordinary film. The content has to be good and that’s what the focus is right now. Lucifer will be an interesting experience for the audience.

The Thanmatra actor also showered praises on Prithviraj’s talent as well.

Prithviraj is very talented. He is a sensible youngster who clearly knows what he wants to do. He wanted to be a director fromthe early stages of his career. Even though Prithvi was busy with his acting career, he keenly observed cinema and learned the process of film making. I can’t do what he does. Film making is a tough job. I can make films if I get a good script, talented assistant directors and a good cinematographer. Unfortunately, all these factors are not good enough if you want to be a complete film maker.

Lucifer will be produced by Mohanlal’s best friend and the hit-maker of Dhrishyam and recent Lalettan blockbuster Oppam, Antony Perumbavoor under the banner of Aashirvaad Cinemas.
