Gurmeet Ram Rahim, the self-styled godman, was sentenced to 20 years in prison for his conviction in two rape cases by a special CBI court in Rohtak. The punishment was hailed by the people across the country, especially seeing the incidents of vandalism carried out by his followers. Among those amused was comedian Kiku Sharda, who was jailed for mimicking the godman.
Kiku Sharda went out on a lunch with his wife and posted a picture on Twitter with a caption that read,”Enjoying a peaceful Chinese meal with no monosodium glutamate @mrsfunnybones @priyankasharda3.” Monosodium glutamate is a flavour enhancer in food and is commonly known as MSG. It is no secret who he was referring to. His tweet evoked the response from none other than Twinkle Khanna, whom he had tagged in the photographed.”Hahaha! And life moves on with its tongue firmly in its cheek:) ” the actress-turned producer tweeted in reply.
Last year, Sharda was sent to 14-day judicial custody for allegedly hurting the sentiments of Gurmeet Ram Rahim’s followers. After being arrested in Mumbai by the Haryana Police, he was booked under Section 295A of the Indian Penal Code. The complainant Uday Singh had alleged that Sharda, while acting in a television show Jashn-E-Umeed that aired on December 27, 2015, had mimicked the Dera chief. He was later granted bail by the court in Kaithal. However, he was later rearrested while traveling to Delhi as another case was lodged against him in Fatehabad.
