Kapil Sharma finally talked about The Kapil Shrama Show going off air, said he can't ignore his health. The shows airs on Sony TV

Soon after the reports of Ajay Devgn walking out from the sets of The Kapil Sharma Show because of the host’s absenceSony Entertainment Channel on Thursday, August 31, announced that the comedian was going on a “short break”. The clarification comes amidst news that the popular comedy show was being replaced by Krushna Abhishek’s The Drama Company.

An official spokesperson from the channel said in a statement: “Kapil has been under the weather for sometime now, due to which we have mutually agreed to take a short break. However, once Kapil has recovered completely, we will start shooting once again. We value our relationship with Kapil and wish him a speedy recovery.”

The grapevine was abuzz that the show may be taken off the air, but a source from the channel said there were a lot of false stories doing rounds of media.

“The show is not going anywhere. It is still here and during the break, we are putting repeats at the 8.00 p.m slot,” news agency quoted a source as saying, adding that no fresh episodes would be shot, for now.

The official statement from the channel comes after Devgn visited the sets of the show to promote his forthcoming film Baadshaho earlier this week. He had reportedly walked out from the sets in anger after Kapil failed to arrive for the shoot, though Devgn later clarified that he hadn’t left in a huff.

Meanwhile, Kapil also confirmed that his show was going off-air for some time, but there is still some good news for his fans. The comedian, while talking to an entertainment portal, promised that it was going to be a drop of a just a few episodes as he would return back with full force.
