Justin Bieber Mumbai concert: 5 flaws that ruined the experience of the much-awaited gig

Justin Bieber's Mumbai concert was jam-packed with fans matching steps with the Canadian pop icon, but these 5 loopholes could have been avoided

Canadian pop sensation Justin Bieber performed before a jam-packed DY Patil Stadium in Mumbai as part of his Purpose India Concert. The Grammy Award winner entertained the 45,000 plus fans with his hit numbers like ‘Where Are You Now’ and ended the gala event with his song ‘Sorry’.

Justin Bieber’s maiden India tour received non-stop media coverage ever since he arrived at the Mumbai airport. The fans cheered ‘JB! JB!’ for him outside the airport as he came accompanied by Salman Khan’s bodyguard Shera. Several B-town celebrities like Jacqueline Fernandez, Alia Bhatt, Malaika Arora Khan and others were present at the concert. Last night was quite rocking as the pop star made sure to keep the audience glued. The crowd-pulling event was a hit, however, there were loopholes during the gig which need special attention. Here are 5 things which went wrong during the event.

Poor PR management: The journalists complained about having a miserable time while covering the event. According to a News 18 report, few selected journalists were allowed inside the event whereas most of them were told they could only cover the red carpet and not the main event. A PR professional was also accused of being rude towards the journalists.

Security lapse: Karan Singh Grover and his wife Bipasha Basu were mobbed by the fans during the concert, forcing them to leave the venue midway. This might be due to the inadequate security arrangements at the venue. After all, the organisers should have kept in mind that Bollywood celebrities will divert the attention from Justin Bieber to some extent.

So what we could not enjoy at the concert… still it’s always fun with you my love. Thank you

Basic amenities: There were complaints about poor arrangements of food and water at the venue. People had to shell out a whopping Rs 100 for a bottle of water. What makes it even worse is the case that one could not carry their food items inside the stadium. There were serpentine queues outside the food stalls, which made for a harrowing time for the Beliebers.

Waste of time: Sonali Bendre took her kids out for Justin Bieber’s concert. Later, she posted a tweet calling the event a waste of time. Many believe that it was a pun intended at the organisers of the event. We do not know whether it was in a positive or negative sense.

Cleanliness: Dirty washrooms and lack of dustbins were also an issue at the venue. The absence of trash bins meant that bottles and food packets were littered outside the stadium and there was no one to clean them. The crowd was waiting since morning and the humid climate made things worse for them. After all, they spent a hell lot of money to catch a glimpse of their favourite star.

Despite the organisational loopholes, the fans forgot all the hardships as soon as Justin Bieber took the stage. Their excitement meant no bounds when the Canadian pop singer said, “You guys are the coolest. Hope you’re ready to have the best night.” Towards the end of the performance, he urged the spectators to chant ‘Mumbai… Mumbai’ as well.
