Deepika Padukone seems to have left a lasting impression on Hollywood because she’s up and running for a Teen Choice Award now. Padukone made her Hollywood debut in DJ Caruso’s action flick xXx: Return of Xander Cage as Serena Unger, starring opposite Vin Diesel, Nina Dobrev and Ruby Rose. Although her role wasn’t sizeable, Deepika Padukone was appreciated for her performance. However, a mere nomination doesn’t ensure her winning the award because the competition is tough. Apparently, Deepika will be competing against none other than the Wonder Woman herself, Gal Gadot.

First of all, props to Deepika ’cause competing with Wonder Woman is a feat in itself. Deepika, who has been nominated in the ‘Choice Movie: Action Actress’ category will also be running against xXx: Return of Xander Cage co-stars Nina Dobrev and Ruby Rose, Michelle Rodriguez (The Fate of the Furious) and Kaya Scodelario (Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales).

While it doesn’t seem that Deepika will actually win against Gal Gadot, who has been receiving unanimous praise for her role as Diana Prince in Patty Jenkins’ Wonder Woman, there’s still a long way to go until votes are taken into account. The 2017 Teen Choice Awards, which present awards in several categories honouring the best in music, film, television, fashion, comedy, sports, and the Internet, will be held on August 13, 2017.

Deepika Padukone is on her way to international glory. Earlier, Caruso also confirmed that Deepika will be featured in the fourth installment of the xXx franchise.
