While the buzz continues for the upcoming film The Last Jedi in the Star Wars sequel trilogy, Disney dropped the first look of the 2018 untitled Han Solo anthology spin-off. The film is said to outline the story of a young Han Solo.
The spin-off film will be set in a time before the events of Star Wars: A New Hope (1977). Starring Alden Ehrenreich as Han Solo, the film boasts a stellar cast with Donald Glover playing a young Lando Calrissian, Woody Harrelson, Emilia Clarke, Thandie Newton, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, and Joonas Suotamo as Chewbacca.
As of yet, neither the character names of the entire cast nor the story of the film is known. All we know is that the plot is written by Lawrence and Jon Kasdan. However, filming for this Han Solo anthology film has already begun. Principal photography commenced on Monday at the Pinewood Studios in London. The film is to be directed by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller.
“Han Solo – Smuggler. Scoundrel. Hero. A new Star Wars Story begins,” the official Star Wars account tweeted out with a photo of the entire cast.
