Here's why Ram Gopal Varma's biopic on VK Sasikala could spell more trouble for jailed AIADMK leader

Ram Gopal Varma just announced he is making a film on late J Jayalalithaa's aide VK Sasikala

VK Sasikala, the close aide of late Tamil Nadu chief minister J Jayalalithaa, will have her life portrayed on the silver screen. And guess, who is going to make it? It’s none other than Ram Gopal Varma.

Varma, who is currently filming the final schedule of Amitabh Bachchan-starrer Sarkar 3, said the biopic on Sasikala is ‘unimaginably shocking’.

Referring to Sasikala as the Don Corleone of Mannargudi mafia family, RGV said that she will disclose the relationship between her and Jayalalithaa in his film. “Poes garden’s gardener told me majority MLAs supporting Palanisamy becos [sic] they all are handpicked by Sasikala from members of Mannargudi mafia,” Varma said while posting a picture of her, which we believe might be the first look of the ambitious project.

Varma told IANS that the film will be a from-the-heart Tamilian story and has nothing to do with fiction.

Sasikala, the AIADMK general secretary, was sentenced to a four-year jail term by the Supreme Court after being convicted in the disproportionate assets case. She was also fined Rs 10 crore.

Varma is known for portraying real life incidents in his film. Be it the tussle between Dawood Ibrahim and Chhota Rajan in Company, the life of Andhra politician Paritala Ravi in Raktha Charithra or the gang wars in Satya, the filmmaker has gained accolades for his work.

Sarkar 3, which hits the theatres on 17 March, features Amitabh Bachchan, Jackie Shroff, Yami Gautam and others. The trilogy is reportedly based on the life of deceased Shiv Sena founder Bal Thackeray.
