Here's how Sonam Kapoor is preparing for her special role in Akshay Kumar's Padman

Sonam Kapoor is doing so much of hard work as she wants her character in Akshay Kumar's Padman to come out beautifully on-screen

Akshay Kumar’s upcoming film Padman is in news from the moment it has been announced. Starring Akshay Kumar, Radhika Apte and Sonam Kapoor, the film marks the debut of Twinkle Khanna’s production venture Mrs Funnybones Movies.

Last month, Akshay started shooting for the film in Maheshwar in Madhya Pradesh and also shared a picture of him with wife Twinkle on social media. In fact, pictures of Akshay and actress Radhika Apte from the sets of Padman went viral on the internet and not to forget, the duo was looking really good together.

While Radhika Apte plays the role of Akshay’s wife in the film, it is being said that Soman Kapoor will be seen portraying the character of a tabla player in Padman. Yes, you heard that right!. If rumours are to be believed, the actress has been taking lessons from well-known table player and percussionist Mukta Madan Raste for the last two months.

It is also being said that Soman Kapoor trains with Mukta once in a week and also carries a music book with her while she is travelling. The actress is doing so much of hard work as she wants her character to come out beautifully on-screen.

Helmed by R Balki, Padman is a story of Arunachalam Muruganantham, the man who invented low-cost sanitary pads making machine to provide affordable napkins for women in his village. This is for the first time that Akshay and Radhika will be seen sharing the screen, while Sonam and Khiladi Kumar have earlier worked together in Anees Bazmee’s Thank You which released in 2011.

Well, this is also for the first time that Sonam Kapoor will play a tabla player on-screen and we really can’t wait to watch her in this new avatar.

Padman is slated to hit the screens next year.
