Here's how Sachin Tendulkar's biopic will keep the IPL business going

The makers wanted to cater to Sachin Tendulkar's fans across the nation and hence, wanted to release the movie in 5 languages- Hindi, English, Marathi, Tamil and Telugu

The cricket fever will not end with the conclusion of Indian Premier League (IPL) on May 21. The loyal fans can take it from the fields to big screens by watching cricketing legend Sachin Tendulkar’s film “Sachin: A Billion Dreams” on May 26. It will be the first film releasing on Friday at the end of IPL this year.

The movie will encapsulate Tendulkar’s struggle and unknown and little-known facts about him.

Ravi Bhagchandka, the producer of the movie, said in a statement: “My distributor and I felt this is an ideal date as we will be coming on the Friday following the IPL fever with the story of the biggest cricket sensation alive, Sachin Tendulkar.”

The film is set to release in 5 languages. The makers wanted to cater to Sachin Tendulkar’s fans across the nation and hence, wanted to release the movie in Hindi, English, Marathi, Tamil and Telugu.

Ravi Bhagchandka further added “Sachin Tendulkar is a sensation that transcends language. He has clearly created an era which we as Indians can be proud of. His story is one that we want everyone to witness, without the barrier of language.”

The makers had seen 10,000 hours of archived footage to do some research for the film.

Produced by Bhagchandka of 200 Not Out and Shrikant Bhasi of Carnival Motion Pictures, it is being helmed by James Erskine.

Recently, while promotion his film, in an interview with Mid-Day, when the Master Blaster was asked to name a celebrity to would have played his role perfectly, the cricketer took Aamir Khan’s name and said that there is a direct connection between him and the actor. He further added “Aamir has done Lagaan. He’s a great actor and a wonderful person.”
