Fawad Khan bags another film post 'Ae Dil Hai Mushkil'

Amid the controversy surrounding the Pakistani artistes, Fawad Khan has reportedly signed Shyam Benegal’s next movie titled ‘Yeh Raaste Hai Pyaar Ke’. The movie which will deal with cross-border peace is slated to be directed by Harsh Narayan. It will cover the journey of two musicians and Fawad Khan will play one of them.  This will be his first project after the controversy that sparked in the wake of Uri attack. Fawad Khan is currently in Lahore with his family.

In an interview given to IANS, the director Harsh Narayan stated that the film will promote humanity. It will explore peace and love. The director feels that this is the best time to put the film out, keeping the scenario in mind. He said, “Faiz composed poems in which he spoke lovingly about his land and its long-suffering people, their hopes and fears, joys and sorrows. I’m trying to capture that feeling through my film.” Shyam Benegal also became vocal about the issue and said that when he made ‘Ankur‘, he was called a mad filmmaker. The hunt for the second lead is still on. It would be interesting to see who will share the screen space with Fawad Khan.

Earlier, Fawad Khan was condemned for staying silent on the Uri terror attack. But the actor took notice of it and responded by writing a long post on his social media. Fawad said that he is praying for a more peaceful world.

He further wrote: “I’ve been in Lahore since July as my wife and I had been expecting our second child. I’ve received numerous requests from the media and from well-wishers worldwide asking me for my thoughts on the sad incidents that took place in the past few weeks. “As a father of two little children, I pray and wish like many others that together we can build and live in a more peaceful world. I believe we owe it to our children who will shape our tomorrow.” Fawad added, “Please disregard any other words attributed to me during this time because I have not said them. I thank all my fans and fellow artists from Pakistan, India and people in general all over the world who have shown continued support for their belief in love and understanding to unite a divisive world.”
