Deepika Padukone looks stunning as Padmavati but Twitter's business with her 'unibrow' is interesting

Twitter gets divided over Deepika Padukone's unibrow look from Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Padmavati. Check it out here

With the first look poster of Deepika Padukone’s Padmavati, the long wait has finally come to an end (yay!). The actress who is playing the titular role of Rani Padmavati looked every inch of a royal Rajputana queen. On the auspicious occasion of Navratri, on Thursday, September 21, Deepika treated her fans with two posters featuring her as queen Padmavati (and boy, we fell in love with Deepika all over again).

In the poster, Deepika is seen donning an embellished red lehenga-choli by designer duo Harpreet and Rimple Narula. Her look was completed with elaborate Rajasthani jewellery by Tanishq. No doubt, the Bajirao Mastani actress completely nailed the maharani avatar, but what caught everyone’ attention was her unibrow (no one really imagined it you see).

The Bajirao Mastani actress, who is sporting a unibrow for the first time, can be seen standing with folded hands inside what seems like a temple in the second poster. And because pretty Bollywood divas don’t really sport a unibrow that often (Vidya Balan last sported it in Begum Jaan), this is something which has now become the talking point for Twitterattis.

Padmavati, which will release on December 1, captures the story of Rani Padmavati’s extreme valour as she performs Jauhar (self-immolation) after Alauddin Khilji, the medieval-era Delhi ruler, starts invading Rajasthan. It features Ranveer Singh as Alauddin Khilji and Shahid Kapoor in the role of Raja Raval Ratan Singh, Padmavati’s husband. The film is directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali who is known for his grand period dramas. It also marks the third collaboration of Ranveer, Bhansali and Deepika after Bajirao Mastani and Raam Leela.

Did you know?

Some 200 craftsmen worked for 600 days to create some of the most iconic jewellery pieces that will be showcased in the movie? Each piece of jewellery worn in the movie plays a significant role in some of the most crucial scenes such as the celebration of Diwali, Holi, Ghoomer and the Jauhar scenes. It is said that Raja Ratan Singh, the Rajput ruler of Chittor heard about Padmavati’s beauty from a talking parrot named Hiraman and fell for her.
