With all the big actors blocking major festive weekends this year, here's a look at the Box Office predictions of some most-awaited movies of 2017

The New Year has just begun and it seems like it is going to be an amazing one for all the movie buffs. It will be a great year as all our Bollywood celebs are coming up with their big releases in 2017. While Aamir Khan’s Dangal ruled the Box Office in 2016, it is going to be a tough fight this year as well. With most of the big releases scheduled during the three major festivals, i.e., Eid, Diwali, and Christmas, so one thing is for sure that they will the biggest Box Office collection weekend.

Here’s a look at the Box Office predictions of some most-awaited movies of 2017:

1) Raees

Now this is what you call an amazing start of the year. Badshah Shah Rukh Khan, who will be seen playing the role of a wicked bootlegger in the film is all set to rule the Box Office in the very first month itself. Releasing on the Republic Day weekend, the film is likely to cross many Box Office records. Shah Rukh’s last release was Dear Zindagi which was also a huge hit and did a good business.

Release date: January 25

Opening day collection: Rs 15 Crore – Rs 20 Crore

Opening weekend collection: Rs 50 Crore – Rs 60 Crore

2) Rangoon

Directed by Vishal Bhardwaj, Rangoon is a period drama which is set in the 1940s amid the turmoil of India’s independence struggle. What makes it special is the stellar star cast of the film, as we will get to see the three most unconventional actors – Shahid Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan, and Kangana Ranaut – share the screen space together for the first time. Vishal’s last release was Madaari, starring Irrfan Khan which managed to cross around 18crores at the Box Office.

3) Jagga Jasoos

It will be the first time that Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif will share the screen after their breakup. Directed by Anurag Basu, the trailer of the film is really liked by the audience and it’s surely going to be one of the toughest contenders at the Box Office.

4) Baahubali: The Conclusion

There is no doubt that the Box Office belong to this grand movie, which not only broke every Box office record with its prequel but also made it to the Guinness Book of World Records. Any prediction for this film will be less giving it up to its grandeur.

5) Toilet – Ek Prem Katha

Just like the name, the star cast of the film is also very unique. Starring Bhumi Pednekar and Akshay Kumar in lead roles, the movie is said to be inspired by PM’s Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan. And as far as we can predict, it could turn out to be a surprise winner at the Box Office.

6) Tubelight

We all know that even Box Office collections bow down to Bhaijaan’s films. After stirring storms at the BO with Sultan, Salman is all set for yet another Eid release and this time it is going to be much bigger. While Sultan crosses the 100 crore mark in just 2 days, we can only predict what Tubelight have in store for us.

7) Rahnuma

After blocking the Republic Day weekend with Raees, Shah Rukh Khan has also booked the Independence Day weekend with Imtiaz Ali’s Rahnuma. This year is surely going to be the year of the Khans and there is no doubt about it.

8) Golmaal Again

After giving us a film like Shivaay, Ajay Devgn is back with the Golmaal series and we all know that Rohit Shetty is exceptionally well with the BoOffice figures when it is about the Golmaal franchise. And like every film, this one will also cross the 100 crore mark as it is scheduled to release on the Diwali weekend. A lot of fireworks at the BoxOffice could be expected.

Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s yet another magnum opus after Bajirao Mastani is all set to enthrall the audience this year. Starring Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh, and Shahid Kapoor, this movie will rock the Box Office and we think that it will surpass the collections of Bajirao really soon.

11) Tiger Zinda Hai

Salman Khan has totally nailed the Box Office game. After blocking the Eid weekend with Kabir Khan’s Tubelight, the Christmas and New Year also belongs to Bhaijaan, as he will again make us fall in love with Tiger. The movie is a sequel to Ek Tha Tiger which crossed the 300 crore mark at the Box Office.
