It’s Mohanlal vs Mohanlal at the Box Office. After crossing the lifetime collections of Allu Arjun starrer Sarrainodu, Mohanlal’s Pulimurugan has now overtaken his own Telugu blockbuster Janatha Garage at the Box Office. Directed by Vysakh and produced by Tomichan Mulakupadam, Pulimurugan featured the four-time-National Award winner in the titular role of a hunter, Murugan.
The Malayalam version of the action entertainer, which hit the theatres on 7 October has so far minted Rs 129 crore at the Box Office while it’s Telugu dubbed version, Manyam Puli has grossed Rs 6.50 crore from its 12-day theatrical run. The total worldwide collection of Pulimurugan now stands at Rs 135.50 crore. And with these figures, Pulimurugan has surpassed the worldwide collections of top Telugu grosser of the year, Jr. NTR – Mohanlal and Unni Mukundan starrer Janatha Garage (Rs 135 crore) at the Box Office.
What’s more? Pulimurugan has also emerged as third highest grossing South Indian film of the year after Rajinikanth’s Kabali and Ilayathalapathy Vijay’s Theri. It’s an outstanding achievement not only for the makers but for the entire Mollywood industry as Pulimurugan is the first Malayalam film to achieve this feat.
Pulimurugan also features Kamalini Mukherjee and Jagapati Babu.
