The year’s first award night took place in Mumbai with the industry’s biggies walking down the red carpet. Leading the race of awards was Shoojit Sircar’s Pink which bagged as many as four awards. While Amitabh Bachchan received the award for Best actor, Aditya Bannerji won Best Editing award and Ritesh Shah got the award for Best Dialogue award. The film also won the Best Film award.
Pink talked about breaking the stereotypes around women in the society and was received well by both the audience and critics. Featuring Taapsee Pannu, Kriti Kulhari and Andrea Tairang in the lead along with Big-B, the film was directed by Aniruddha Roy Choudhary.
This was the first awards session for the films released in 2016 and Pink in the lead was definitely a good sign. It seems like the movie is there to receive more appreciation and acclaim and everything which is rightly deserved!
