Varun Dhawan essays the titular roles of Prem and Raja in Judwaa 2, the sequel to the 1997 hit starring Salman Khan

Varun Dhawan starrer Judwaa 2’s trailer was unveiled today amid much fanfare. Within minutes of its release, it sent the social media on a tizzy. The three-minute long trailer has raked in more than 3 lakh views on YouTube.  The lead actor has been receiving praises for his portrayal of dual roles of Raja and Prem, and his fans are predicting the action-comedy to be another successful film in his career. In a heartwarming gesture, Salman Khan, who featured in the earlier instalment two decades ago, personally tweeted the trailer video.

“Judwaa 1 tweeting for Judwaa 2,” the 51-year-old actor posted along with the trailer, raking in 513 retweets and 1.6k shares. To which Varun replied,”You will always be the original judwaa bhai.” The Judwaa 2 actor’s reply has so far garnered 263 retweets and 756 likes.

During the trailer launch event, Varun was asked about the Dabangg actor’s role in the much-anticipated film.”Technically actually, this is the second time Salman Khan and I have come together as in Main Tera Hero, he did the voice over for Bappa. He is obviously a part of Judwaa 2 in a cameo,” he said. The second instalment features Taapsee Pannu and Jacqueline Fernandez in lead roles.

It should be noted that both Varun and Salman gave a glimpse of their performance at the recently concluded IIFA 2017 Awards event when they danced on the song Tan Tana Tan picturised in Judwaa.
