Salman Khan’s most anticipated movie of the year Tubelight has performed dismally at the Box Office. At least the data fetched after one week of it’s release says so. The movie did not receive the usual grand opening like his other movies did in the past. It looks like Tubelight is racing with Jai Ho which earned only Rs 83.48 crore in the first week. While it did a business of Rs 1.33 crore.

Looking at Tubelight‘s performance at the Box Office after the first week, the film needs some footfalls in order to get into Rs 130 crore. Salman’s film Jai Ho added 31% of week one in its lifetime sum of Rs 115 crore. In will be interesting to see how much Tubelight will add to its lifetime sum.

Salman’s recent releases, Bajrangi Bhaijaan and Sultan got the huge opening in the first week and maintained it in the following days. However, in the case of Tubelight, the film is struggling to get a decent number in its one-week run at Box Office. As compared with his recent releases, the Kabir Khan directorial has managed to earn Rs 106.50 crores approximately. Both Bajrangi Bhaijaan and Sultan touched the mark of Rs 300 crore respectively after getting a good opening in the first week.

The film has received disappointing reactions from all quarters, be it the critics or the audience. Film critic Taran Adarsh said that Tubelight has been rejected. He tweeted:

After Tubelight‘s first week run, it is very clear that the film is not anywhere close to Salman’s earlier releases- Bajrangi Bhaijaan and Sultan. The couldn’t even manage to join the club of Kick, Prem Ratan Dhan Payo and Ek Tha Tiger, which did a business of Rs 199 crores in India.
