Sajid-Wajid join BJP. Will they succeed in weaving the same magic on political turf?

Bollywood music composer duo Sajid-Wajid who gave us chartbusters like Fevicol Se, Soni de Nakhre and others, have jumped on the political bandwagon by joining Bharatiya Janata Party. Both the composers officially joined the party at an event organised by the BJP youth wing to celebrate former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s birthday on Sunday.

“There is only one promise we can make ourselves on Atal Ji’s birthday, to make India corruption-free. Atal Ji
worked hard all his life to enhancing the nation’s capabilities and (Prime Minister Narendra) Modi is only fulfilling Atal Ji’s dreams,” Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said at the event.

“I ask every youth present here to teach ten people how to conduct trade in cashless method and help fulfill Atal Ji’s dream of a corruption-free nation,” Fadnavis said.

“During his tenure (as the PM) Atal Ji’s brought immense repute to the country in the international arena,” he said and added that whatever BJP is today is because of Vajpayee.

Sajid-Wajid shot to fame in 1998 when they composed songs for Sohail Khan’s directorial venture Pyaar Kiya To Darna Kya, featuring his brothers Salman Khan and Arbaaz Khan. They won accolades with their music in films like Partner, Dabangg, Dabangg 2 and several others.

Now, it remains to be seen whether the duo will be able to weave the same magic on political turf as they have been doing in films. Recently, veteran actor Himani Shivpuri too joined the saffron party. She hails from Uttarakhand which will witness Assembly polls next year.
