Raees Box Office Collection Day 2: Shah Rukh Khan's film cashes in on the National holiday

Shah Rukh Khan starrer Raees saw a commendable growth on the second day hinting that releasing the film before Republic Day was a nice idea

It was indeed a Happy Republic Day for the makers of Raees as the film saw a good growth in the Box Office numbers on Thursday. The Shah Rukh Khan starrer is reported to have earned Rs 26.30 crore on Republic Day. On its release day, Raees earned Rs 20.42 crore. Undoubtedly, releasing the movie a day before the National Holiday turned out to be fruitful for the makers.

The grand total of Raees  now stands at Rs 46.72 cr.

The Rahul Dholakia directorial explored the meteoric rise of Raees Alam and how he built an entire empire from the scratch. Owing to what he did, Raees enjoyed a cult following and went on to become the most powerful man in the state. The unabashed bootlegger always thought ahead of the curve. It was this nature of his that led to him locking horns with a no-nonsense cop ACP Majmudar (Nawazuddin Siddiqui).

A perfect blend of thrill and power packed dialogues, Raees got a thumbs up from the viewers and critics alike. Seems like the positive reactions have successfully translated to footfalls. Despite Friday, being a working day, trade experts have suggested that Raees will not loosen the hold at the ticket counters. The coming weekend would obviously add tremendously to the numbers.

Raees collections despite facing competition from Kaabil are a proof that Shah Rukh Khan’s stardom cannot be challenged. Though, the makers of Hrithik Roshan starrer alleged Raees of playing dirty to get more number of screens; this allegation hasn’t hampered the growth of the film.

Now it is left to be seen if Raees helps Shah Rukh Khan come at par with his contemporaries Salman Khan and Aamir Khan in terms of Box Office numbers or not.
