Priyanka Chopra is not only Bollywood’s Desi Girl anymore as she has established herself as a true global icon. After making her big Hollywood debut with Baywatch, she is busy with another project A Kid Like Jake. Born on July 18 in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand she is the daughter of Late Dr Ashok Chopra and Madhu Chopra, both physicians in the Indian Army. Apart from being a Daddy’s girl, she is the loving sister to her younger brother Siddharth Chopra.
As her parents’ were in the army the family relocated to a number of places in India, including Delhi, Chandigarh, Ambala, Ladakh, Lucknow, Bareilly and Pune. Among the schools she attended were La Martiniere Girls’ School in Lucknow and St. Maria Goretti College in Bareilly. After this, she moved abroad for further studies.
The turning point in Priyanka came when she won the title of Miss World pageant in the year 2000. Not only this, she has many glorious feathers attached to her name. She has a National Film Award and five Filmfare Awards to flaunt. In 2016, the Government of India honoured her with the Padma Shri and Time magazine named her one of the 100 most influential people in the world.
Priyanka made her debut with the 2003 release The Hero: Love Story of a Spy and since then there was no looking back for her. The 34-year-old actress’ talent is not limited to the big silver screen only. She is a singer and a US TV actor, with Quantico being her debut series.
