Phillauri Box Office collection Day 3: Anushka Sharma's film dominates North, earns Rs 15 crore

Anushka Sharma's Phillauri is made on a budget of Rs 21 crore and has already recovered Rs 12 crore from the satellite and music rights

Anushka Sharma and Diljit Dosanjh’s love story in their latest release Phillauri is winning hearts everywhere. The film is being highly appreciated not only by the audience but the film fraternity as well. Directed by Anshai Lal, Phillauri is a story of a friendly ghost and its incomplete love story. This is for the first time that Anushka has played a ghost on-screen and people have fallen in love with her character.

The movie had a slow start at the box office on its opening day and saw only 15 percent occupancy across India but on the very next day, the film jumped drastically and registered an impressive growth of over 30 percent. Not only domestically, but Phillauri is doing great overseas as well.

In its first weekend, the film did a business of Rs 4.02 crore on Friday, Rs 5.20 crore on Saturday and Rs 6.03n crore, minting a total of Rs 15.25 crore so far. With its constantly increasing collection, the film is slowly making its hold stronger at the box office.

Phillauri is Anushka Sharma’s second production venture after NH10 and the film has also surpassed the first weekend collections of NH10. The film is made on a budget of Rs 21 crore and has already recovered Rs 12 crore from the satellite and music rights.

The film released along with Swara Bhaskar’s Anaarkali Of Aarah and is way ahead of it in terms of collections. Phillauri is dominating the North in the domestic market, mainly because of Diljit Dosanjh’s huge popularity. Apart from Anushka and Diljit, the film also stars Mehreen Pirzada opposite Life of Pi fame Suraj Sharma

Trade Analyst Taran Adarsh took to Twitter and wrote:

Well, it will be interesting to see how the movie will perform after the release of Taapsee Pannu-Akshay Kumar’s Naam Shabana.
