Ghoomar, the first song from Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s visual masterpiece Padmavati is OUT and it is breathtakingly beautiful. Featuring Deepika Padukone as the ethereal Rajput queen, the song has been choreographed by Kruti Mahesh Midya and sung by Shreya Ghoshal and Swaroop Khan. And for the unintended, Ghoomar is a traditional folk dance of Rajasthan and is mainly performed by Rajput women at auspicious occasions such as at weddings and festivals.
In the song, Deepika can be seen dancing with grace and royalty donning a beautiful lehenga and choli with utterly gorgeous jewellery.
A day before the release of the song, team Padmavati was building curiosity around Ghoomar by sharing facts about Ghoomar. Here’s what they shared:
Padmavati is the story of brave Rajput queen Rani Padmini who stood against Delhi’s ruthless ruler, Sultan Alauddin Khilji. Padmini put her honour before anything and along with her husband Raja Rawal Ratan Singh, essayed by Shahid Kapoor, fought one of the greatest battles of the history.
Padmavati stars Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone and Shahid Kapoor in lead roles. It is slated to release on December 1.
