Manoj Bajpayee's wife Neha to play Maanayata Dutt in Sanjay Dutt biopic

Actor Manoj Bajpayee's wife Neha is likely to play the role of Sanjay Dutt’s wife Maanayata in the biopic. But will she be able to do justice to the role?

The much awaited Sanjay Dutt biopic featuring Ranbir Kapoor in the lead role, finally went on floors on January 14 this year. While most of the star-cast is already been finalised by director Rajkumar Hirani, talks are on for finding the suitable person to play the role of Maanayata Dutt on-screen.

The movie was in news ever since its announcement and there was also news of a tiff between Sanjay Dutt and Ranbir Kapoor regarding the film. But it seems like those were all just baseless rumours, as the shooting has just begun.

With biopics being the current favourite genre of Bollywood filmmakers, a movie on Sanjay Dutt’s life will be a great opportunity to know the actor up-close and personal.

According to reports, actor Manoj Bajpayee’s wife and actress Neha Bajpayee is likely to play the role of Sanjay Dutt’s wife Maanayata in the biopic. Neha made her debut in Bobby Deol starrer Kareeb and was last seen in Acid Factory in the year 2009.

Apart from Ranbir Kapoor, the film also stars Sonam Kapoor, who will be seen playing the role of an actress to whom Sanjay Dutt was linked in 80s and 90s. Anushka Sharna is also a part of the film and will be seen playing a journalist.

While the hunt is still on for an actress to play the role of Sanjay Dutt’s mother Nargis,  the role of his father Sunil Dutt will be portrayed by Paresh Rawal.

The movie is scheduled to release on Christmas this year and is likely to clash with Salman Khan’s Tiger Zinda Hai, which will hit the screens on December 22.
