Actor Manav Kaul dropped by at our workplace, and he showed us how to get angry. He was promoting his latest film, Albert Pinto Ko Gussa Kyon Aata Hai? Directed by Soumitra Ranade, who is also known for making the cult film for children, Jajantaram Mamantaram – the film borrows its title from Saeed Akhtar Mirza’s 1980 film starring Naseeruddin Shah, Smita Patil and Shabana Azmi.
The original film took on the issues of capitalism vs the plight of mill workers, and delved into the simmering anger of the common man of that time. But the 2018 version looks a lot more dense in comparison, from the trailer at least. The 2018 update sees Manav Kaul being accompanied by the likes of Nandita Das & Saurabh Shukla.
