Man who threatened to kill Alia Bhatt granted bail, would walk free soon

A few weeks ago a man threatened to kill Alia Bhatt. He was later nabbed in Lucknow but has now been granted bail, suggest media reports

The man who threatened Mahesh Bhatt to kill Alia Bhatt and Soni Razdan will soon be out of prison. The man named Sandeep Sahu had threatened to kill Alia and Soni if rS 50 lakhs was not paid to him. After Mahesh Bhatt lodged a complaint with the police, Sandeep was nabbed near Lucknow. He will soon be out of bail after paying Rs 20,000.

Sandeep’s lawyer defended him in the court saying he should have been booked with criminal intimidation and not extortion. He argued that the policemen booked him for a grave offence owing to their overzeal. While criminal intimidation falls under the section 507 of the Indian Penal Code, intimidation comes under section 387 of the IPC.

With how the current situations are panning out, Sandeep would be out of jail soon. He would be required to visit the police station on every Sunday between 2-4 PM.
