The man who threatened Mahesh Bhatt to kill Alia Bhatt and Soni Razdan will soon be out of prison. The man named Sandeep Sahu had threatened to kill Alia and Soni if rS 50 lakhs was not paid to him. After Mahesh Bhatt lodged a complaint with the police, Sandeep was nabbed near Lucknow. He will soon be out of bail after paying Rs 20,000.
Sandeep’s lawyer defended him in the court saying he should have been booked with criminal intimidation and not extortion. He argued that the policemen booked him for a grave offence owing to their overzeal. While criminal intimidation falls under the section 507 of the Indian Penal Code, intimidation comes under section 387 of the IPC.
With how the current situations are panning out, Sandeep would be out of jail soon. He would be required to visit the police station on every Sunday between 2-4 PM.
Sandeep planned the entire thing to get Rs 6 lakhs from Mahesh Bhatt. He reportedly had to pay that amount of money to his relatives. He posed as Babloo Srivastava to call Mahesh Bhatt. The acclaimed filmmaker earlier thought this was a prank but when the frequency of calls increased, he alerted the police. Babloo also sent WhatsApp texts to threaten Mahesh but Sandeep was nabbed soon after the filmmaker filed a complaint.
This incident took place when Alia Bhatt was extensively promoting her film Badrinath Ki Dulhania. During the film promotions when questioned if she feared anything, Alia replied in the negative. The actress asserted she had nothing to be scared of in the presence of her father and the Mumbai police.
The bubbly actress is currently riding high on the success of Badrinath Ki Dulhania. The movie in which Alia Bhatt romanced Varun Dhawan impressed viewers and earned close to Rs 100 crore at the Box Office.
