Kamal Haasan speaks out against Paresh Rawal's tweet on Arundhati Roy. Here's what he said

After Swara Bhaskar, southern superstar Kamal Haasan also reacted on Paresh Rawal for saying that Arundhati Roy should be tied to an army jeep

Veteran actor and parliamentarian Paresh Rawal has attracted a lot of flak on Twitter for saying the army should “tie” author Arundhati Roy to an army jeep instead of tying a “stone pelter”. Soon after his post, twitter users termed Rawal’s tweet as “offensive” and “incited violence”. Not only common people but his film fraternity people also slammed him for his tweet. Recently, actress Swara Bhaksar took to her Facebook and shared her views. She wrote: It’s one thing to disagree with someone, even hate them… but Wow!!!!!!! #PareshRawal takes shamelessness and irresponsibility to other levels.

Now after Swara, Southern superstar Kamal Haasan also expressed his views on the same. He said: “I hope both Ms Arundhati Roy and the Kashmir extremists have a humorous bend of mind like my friend Paresh ji.” an entertainment portal quoted him as saying.

Carefully speaking his mind out Kamal Haasan further added: “I’ve been in enough trouble in recent times for speaking my mind. The times are such that hard facts must be swept away in lies. Not even the war of mere words seem civil in a delicate situation like this. Urban sensibilities differ in tenor and deed to rural or martial mindset. Urban high society debates like these in the media make me nervous. These urban critics are equally innocent as those victims of this politico-religious drama in Kashmir,”.

Paresh Rawal’s comment comes after an army officer tied a Kashmiri youth to the front of an army jeep as a human shield to avoid stone pelting during an army patrol in Budgam district on an election day in April. The incident received widespread condemnation.
