Former classmate lashes out at Mira Rajput for her 'puppy' comment in an Open Letter

Well, this 'puppy' remark of Mira Rajput didn't go down well with many working mothers. Recently, one of Mira's college mates expressed her displeasure for Mira's comments

Being a celebrity wife comes with its own social responsibilities and Shahid Kapoor’s wife Mira Rajput must have realised it by now. Mira tied the knot with Shahid in July 2015 and the couple was blessed with daughter Misha on August 26, 2016. The star wife has always made headlines for all the right reason, but it seems like things have taken a u-turn.

Recently, while speaking at an event on International Women’s Day earlier this month, Mira talked at length about daughter Misha and also gave her piece of mind on the new moms who are working as well. She said, “I wouldn’t want to spend one hour a day with my child and rush off to work, why did I have her? She is not a puppy; I want to be there for her as a mother.”

Well, this ‘puppy’ remark of Mira didn’t go down well with many working mothers. Many of them took to social media and slammed Mira for making such comment. And one of those women was none other than Mira’s college mate, who wrote an open letter onFacebook, saying that Mira was one of those arrogant girl’s who used to judge others on their body shape and fashion sense.

Here’s what one of Mira’s classmates wrote on Facebook:

Dear Mira,

Having watched your interview, I feel extremely enraged today. I’ve spent three years in the same college and batch as you. I can say today with confidence that your idea of feminism is extremely flawed. Seeing you walk around with your posse in college, belittling women who were not skinny enough or did not subscribe to your fashion ‘standards’ makes me wonder what you ever did to have a moral high ground over anyone at any point. Your narrow world view is astounding, to say the least. And not to forget, how your statement about working mothers takes us years back in reaching actual empowerment of which you seem to know nothing.

With lots of aggression,

An informed feminist

Earlier, Shahid came in defense of wife Mira and said that she didn’t make any direct comment on anybody and also said that Mira was speaking from a very positive space. Well, we wonder what Shahid has to say now.
