Dangal beats Sultan to become the best film of 2016: InUth Poll

Dangal has emerged as the audience favourite in our Facebook live poll. The other films that were nominated were Udta Punjab and Pink

Dangal is doing a tremendous business at the Box Office. The film has so far collected over Rs 176 crore and is on its glorious run to reach Rs 200 crore in 7 days. And it has even surpassed Sultan to be the best film of 2016. No, not us. You guys have made it possible.

InUth did a Facebook live poll among four films — Dangal, Sultan, Pink and Udta Punjab. And Dangal beat the rest three films with a big margin. In the poll that ran for a few hours, Dangal got 2185 votes as compared to Udta Punjab (155), Sultan (562) and Pink (146).

Dangal is fresh in the minds of viewers and of course it serves a good on-screen content. The Aamir Khan film talks about an emotional story of a father’s struggle to make his daughters the wrestlers of international caliber. What is also interesting is how the director has managed to add humour to such a serious narrative. Dangal is also full of patriotic and nationalist elements.

Sultan follows Dangal in our poll at the second level. The Salman Khan starrer was also a sports drama but it had a love story at its heart. Both Salman and Anushka played Haryanvi wrestlers but their chemistry won hearts.

Udta Punjab has got 155 votes. The film, after fighting its way through Censor board, won hearts for being true to its story. It showed the position of drug-hit Punjab in the country and featured Kareena Kapoor Khan, Shahid Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Daljit Dosanjh in the lead. Alia even went on to win the Best Actress award at the Star Screen Award for her portrayal of a Bihari migrant.

Congratulations Dangal team. The audience is with you.
