Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan’s latest release Badrinath Ki Dulhania is receiving a great response at the box office. The film is not only being praised by the audience but by the film critics as well. This is the third time that Alia and Varun have paired up for a film after Student of the Year and Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania.
The film released on around 3000 screens in India and did a business of Rs 12.25 crore on Friday and Rs 14.75 crore on Saturday, minting a total of Rs 27 crore so far. With such good box office collection, Badrinath Ki Dulhania has made its place amongst top three biggest opener films of 2017 after Raees and Jolly LLB 2 which earned Rs 20.42 crore and Rs 13.2 crore respectively on their opening day.
Directed by Shashank Khaitan and produced by Dharma Productions, the film is a rom-com with a perfect blend of good songs, nice and light-hearted storyline and great performances. Undoubtedly, the USP of the film is Alia and Varun’s chemistry, which makes you stick to your seats throughout the film.
With its day one collection, Badrinath Ki Dulhania has also made its place in the list of Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan’s career best films. In fact, this is Karan Johar’s fifth film which has made its place in the top ten romantic entertainers list in terms of opening day collections including Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, Shaandaar and 2 States.
Badrinath Ki Dulhania is already on a record breaking spree and it won’t be wrong to say that in the coming weeks, the film is surely going to leave behind many new releases. The film is the first festive release of this year and will surely earn Rs 40-50 crore in its first weekend if compared to the opening day figures.
