Baadshaho: With Emraan Hashmi and Esha Gupta's Socha Hai song, another Bollywood classic gets ruined -- Watch Video

Baadshaho song Socha Hai, featuring Emraan Hashmi and Esha Gupta has a good chemistry. But, why reprising an old Bollywood song again?

The new song from Baadshaaho starring Esha Gupta and Emraan Hashmi has been released. The number is called Socha Hai and is a reprised version of the Keh Doon Tumhe song from 1975 super hit movie Deewar. The original version had Shashi Kapoor and Neetu Singh romancing each other and in this film, it is Esha and Emraan. The new version is sung by Tanishk Bagchi, Jubin Nautiyal, and Neeti Mohan.

The reprised version of the song, however, comes off as disappointing. Keh Doon Tumhe is considered sacred by many and they won’t easily accept just any reprised version of the song. Sung by Kishore Kumar, the original song was soothing to hear, but sadly, the same cannot be said for the new version. This new song comes out as a hollow remix infused with whistles. Though Emraan and Esha’s chemistry stand out in the video, the song itself is a huge letdown.

Check out the original song:

Emraan’s movies are known to have songs that inadvertently land on our tongues and are quite easy to hymn. By his own admission, even if his films don’t have anything else worth praising, they have good songs. The last time Emraan and Esha came together on the silver screen was in Jannat 2 which had a great soundtrack.  Check this out:

It should be noted that Baadshaaho has another song which is a modified version of an original. The song Rashke Qamar, which was originally sung by Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, is included in the film and shows the romance between Ajay Devgn and Ileana D’Cuz. Check it out here:

Bollywood has off late again begun to reprise old numbers, which is significant of the fact that composers are running out of ideas. Isn’t it high time we get new, original songs which are not a spin-off?
