Anurag Basu’s latest release Jagga Jasoos, featuring Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif has not fared at the Box Office as expected. But unfazed with the reaction, the director has sent out hugs to the detractors and said rejection doesn’t mean dejection for him. He took to his social media platform to share his views. Reacting to the subject, Basu on Wednesday, July 26 tweeted: “Thank you so much for your love and appreciation for ‘Jagga Jassos’. It’s like oxygen for me right now. Tight hugs… And for those who disliked it, hugs for them too, coz your rejection paves the way for my next and I promise I’ll try not to disappoint you.”
Released on July 12, Jagga Jasoos has collected Rs 53.38 crore in India till July 24. Featuring Ranbir Kapoor as Jagga and Katrina Kaif as Shruti, the film was presented in a musical format. It banked on the emotional ups and downs of Jagga’s and Shruti’s life as they embark on a mission to hunt for the former’s father. The film, which had been in the making for three years, marked the comeback of both Ranbir and Katrina. They last worked together in 2010 released Raajneeti.
Meanwhile, Anurag Basu has also broken his silence over Rishi Kapoor’s statement. While talking to a leading daily, without adding more fuel to the issue, Basu said: “I want to avoid making any comments against a senior who also happens to be my friend’s dad.”
In a recent interview to Mid-Day, Ranbir’s father and veteran actor Rishi Kapoor lashed out at Basu for delaying the film and called the director “irresponsible” with money and time. He even slammed the director for chopping off Govinda’s portion from the film.
