Amitabh Bachchan gets 27 million Twitter followers, feels honoured

Amitabh Bachchan now boasts of  27 million followers on Twitter. He is just behind Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who has 30.2 million Twitter followers. “It is 27 million followers on Twitter! 27 Million! I am indeed honoured and blessed,” Amitabh tweeted on Saturday night.

The 74-year-old thespian who has given hits like Sholay, Deewar, Agneepath, Kaalia, Zanjeer, Sharabi, Black and Piku, is ahead of actors Shah Rukh Khan with 25.1 million, Salman Khan with 23 million, Aamir Khan with 20.9 million, Priyanka Chopra with 17.4 million and Deepika Padukone with 18.5 million followers on the micro-blogging site.

Theveteran actor is active on social media platforms and uses the medium to share updates about his personal and professional life with his fans. He was last seen on screen in the third instalment of Sarkar trilogy, a political thriller, wherein he reprised the role of Subhash Nagre.

Amitabh is now preparing for his upcoming film Thugs Of Hindostan. The film will also feature Aamir Khan and actress Fatima Sana Shaikh. This will be the first time Big B and Aamir will be sharing screen space. The film is being directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya, who last helmed Aamir Khan and Katrina Kaif’s Dhoom 3.

He is currently shooting for 102 Not Out, where he will be seen as a 102-year-old man and will play father to veteran actor Rishi Kapoor. It marks the reunion of both the stars after 26 years. They were last seen together in Shashi Kapoor directorial Ajooba.
