Akshay Kumar can't find a release date for Padman and the reason reveals his helplessness

Akshay Kumar wrapped up the shooting for R Balki’s Padman in May and ever since then, a lot has been speculated about it’s release date. While reports suggest a December release for the film, the makers are yet to give an official word.

In an interview for the promotions of Toilet: Ek Prem Katha, when Akshay Kumar was asked if the producers had decided a release date for the much anticipated film, the actor said,

“I have actually completed Padman, 2.0 and 50% of Gold. We don’t have a release date in place for Padman because no one has left a date for us. Everyone has blocked dates for release of their films.”

“Everybody is happy when films don’t clash but we need to realize that there are just 52 weeks in a year wherein over 180 films release. So someone has to clash with someone else. It is very unfortunate that clashes happen, but they are a part and parcel of our industry.”

In Padman, Akshay Kumar’s character is inspired by Arunachalam Muruganantham , the man who begun producing cost effective sanitary napkins and generated awareness in rural areas. Akshay wrapped up shooting for the film in flat 37 days. The movie also stars Radhika Apte and Sonam Kapoor in lead.
