Mohit Madaan Interview: Aksar 2 star speaks on film’s comparison with Aksar, his upcoming projects and more

Mohit Madaan says there have always been comparisons between Aksar and Aksar 2

Aksar 2, the sequel to Emraan Hashmi, Dino Morea and Udita Goswami’s hit flick Aksar is ready to hit the theatres. Helmed by Ananth Mahadevan Narayan, the films stars Gautam Rode, Abhinav Shukla, Zareen Khan and Mohit Madaan in lead roles. While Mohit made his debut with 2015 romantic comedy Love Exchange, Gautam has been a part of several Bollywood projects like Agyaat and You, Bomsi & Me.

While talking to InUth, Mohit talked about the obvious comparisons with the prequel, Aksar 2’s storyline and his upcoming projects.

Is Aksar 2 related to the first part anywhere?
There have always been comparisons between Aksar and Aksar 2, especially as the prequel was successful. Yes, people think Aksar 2 is related to the first part somewhere, no it’s not. It’s has a new story with a fresh star cast. And we are not making comparisons at all.

Aksar gave Bollywood iconic numbers like Jhalak Dikhla Ja. Do you think the music of Aksar 2 can weave the same magic?
Even now people will remember the songs. This time we have Mithoon directing the music. Songs have been sung by Arijit Singh and Amit Mishra. 11 years ago it was different, but over the years music has changed. On the time music preferences of the audience have changed. Hope people will like the songs.

What’s the basic storyline of Aksar 2 like?
In the film, every character somehow or the other is tangled in a trap where they don’t realize it’s a trap. Everybody feels they have an opportunity, individually. But shortcuts and easy money making things come across in the way. And they try to find a way to get out of it.
