Abhishek Bachchan and JP Dutta to reunite after 14 years for a war drama

Abhishek Bachchan is all set to reunite with JP Dutta, the director who helmed his Bollywood debut Refugee, after a break of 14 years

Abhishek Bachchan, who teamed up with JP Dutta in a 2003 war-drama LOC Kargil, is set to reunite with the director after 14 years. The Housefull 3 star and JP Dutta are coming together on silver screen with PALTAN this time. The war-drama is scheduled to release in summer 2018.

This will be the fourth time when the duo is coming together. Abhishek made his Bollywood debut along with Kareen Kapoor Khan in a 2000 release Refugee. Then they came together in Umrao Jaan, which released in 2006. However, the film did not perform well at the Box Office. The film also had Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in lead role.

Recently, the veteran filmmaker, known for war films including the National Award winning Border, unveiled the first look of his next war drama titled PALTAN. The film will boast of an exciting ensemble star cast. Confirming his part in the film, the junior Bachchan took to microblogging site Twitter and tweeted about it. He wrote:

The first look of the film shows silhouettes of army men treading an uneven path, with a tagline: ‘Brother to my right. Brother to my left. Together we stand. Together we fight.’

One can also see several dog tags with names of officers inscribed on them at the top of the poster. Not only Abhishek Bachchan, the Daddy star Arjun Rampal also confirmed his role in PALTAN. Arjun was quoted by a daily as, “Always wanted to do a great war film. Play a true soldier. As that is a backdrop I grew up in. JP sir’s PALTAN promises to be all of the above. I am so charged up to be a part of it as I believe I couldn’t be in better hands.”
