Akshay Kumar’s Jolly LLB 2 is caught up in the legal battle these days, but the trailer of the film and Akshay’s performance is being highly praised by the audience and B-Town celebs. The film is a sequel to Arshad Warsi’s 2013 courtroom comedy drama- Jolly LLB.
Directed by Subhash Kapoor, the movie is said to be completely different from its prequel. Akshay will be seen sporting a thick mustache and a red tika throughout the film and will tickle your funny bones in his lawyer avatar.
Earlier, the makers were supposed to cast Arshad Warsi in the second installment as well, but the actor told that they wanted a bigger star and that’s how they finalized Akshay.
It was being said that Arshad was not very happy with the decision of casting Akshay instead of him, but the actor dismissed all such reports and said that Akshay has done a great job in the film and though he has not watched it yet, he surely knows it’s going to be a hit.

After the trailer release of the film, Akshay and Arshad also praised each other on social media and even during the promotions of the film, Akshay never left a chance to thank Warsi for his support and guidance. In an interview with Firstpost, the actor said:
I am very grateful to Arshad to show me the way of doing this film. It is not about commercial or non-commercial. I just followed Arshad’s path. On the contrary I hope that this film has the kind of success the first one saw. Arshad made the first film a success and thereby a big film and now the pressure is on me. When a star does a character-oriented or an author-backed role there is definitely some kind of pressure.

When Arshad was asked about the same at an event in Mumbai, the actor praised Akshay’s performance and said that the film will surely be a blockbuster. He added:
Why are you touching my weak point? Just kidding! It’s not like that! I’ll tell you honestly and I have said it a lot of times, I am a very lethargic person. During Bigg Boss, I didn’t want to do anything further than that, and Jolly LLB was a coincidence. And as I said earlier, I am very happy that Akshay is doing it. Akshay and I talk a lot, and I think he has done a damn good job. I am really happy, and I really hope that the film does well.

Jolly LLB 2 is a story of a struggling, blunt and yet oddly compassionate Jagdishwar Mishra, aka Jolly, who has moved from Kanpur to the city of Nawabs Lucknow, to become a big lawyer. The movie also stars Huma Qureshi, Annu Kapoor and Saurabh Shukla in prominent roles.
The film is scheduled to release on February 10.
