After thrashing Sanjay Leela Bhansali in public, Karni Sena now says it has no problem with title Padmavati

Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Padmavati ran into grave trouble with Rajput group Karni Sena after the latter claimed the filmmaker changed historic facts

The right-wing group Karni Sena has now withdrawn its demands seeking change of name of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmavati. The group who stalled the shooting last week,  held a press conference along with the makers of Padmavati earlier today. In the conference, Shobha Pant, the CEO of Bhansali productions stated the film didn’t distort facts. During the interaction, members of the group demanded a change in the film’s title citing that the current name would offend them.

However, the latest development suggests that the group has withdrawn from their demands. This points out that they might not disrupt filming, more than they have already done.

The outfit alleged SLB changed facts in his movie and depicted a sequence in which Rani Padmini dreamt of romancing Alauddin Khilji. To these allegations of Karni Sena, Bollywood celebs said if they disagreed they should have taken it to the court. Film stars strongly condemned this and asked the government to intervene. Likes of Rishi Kapoor, Karan Johar, Anurag Kashyap, Sonam Kapoor, Hrithik Roshan and the star cast of Padmavati Shahid Kapoor, Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh stood by SLB’s side.
